Retail expert Bill Grimsey joins forces with GDR Creative Intelligence

Bill Grimsey partners with retail trends and strategy consultancy GDR Creative Intelligence to drive home his vision of how to save the British high street 

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve joined forces with retail veteran Bill Grimsey to bolster his crusade to save Britain’s high streets.

Earlier this summer the former Iceland and Wickes CEO released the long awaited follow-up to the 2013 Grimsey Review, which sets out a community-focused vision to re-energise declining high streets. The collaboration allows Bill to use GDR’s global analysis and real-world case studies to contextualise his structural and economic recommendations.



“Town centres and high streets can no longer rely on retail as the anchor. Town centres have to be about people, not just retail” said Bill Grimsey. “We have to reinvent them for the community by bringing in things like heritage, health, education, entertainment and leisure alongside retail. I’m delighted to be working with GDR because we share a very clear vision of the future.

“By combining our knowledge and our thinking, we can show that the changes I’m proposing are not pie in the sky, but actionable and achievable solutions that are already producing rewards in thriving retail centres around the world.”
