In the fourth episode of our In Conversation With series, GDR CEO Kate Ancketill talks to entrepreneur PY Gerbeau, the brains behind Disneyland Paris and The Millenium Dome, about his latest venture: a £3.5bn, 535-acre “entertainment destination of the future” in Kent.
PY talks Kate through The London Resort Company’s futuristic plans in Kent, which include a three-storey replica of The Colosseum, a Borough Market-inspired food area, a water park and a retail-focused high street, and reveals why they’re not calling it a theme park, but an “entertainment destination for the 22nd century.”
He also explains why e-sports, carbon neutrality and human capital will all play a key role in the destination, which is hoping to open in 2024.
